The Hidden Gem in Philly
Continuing my Philadelphia cafe hopping, I stumbled across this beautiful spot, Vault + Vine, in the East Falls area, not too far from Fairmount. My drive to it was scenic along the Schuylkill River. While the location is questionable (next to an auto repair shop) the cafe itself is beautiful.
The entity that makes this place so special is that it’s a plant shop as well as a cafe. You can come in and meander through myriad breeds of plants while waiting for your cafe Americano to be brewed. It’s such a serene experience.
Right now, I am typing to you while I sit next to a giant cactus in a bright, sunny room. Nothing else can inspire creativity like sunshine and nature. Vault + Vine has a separate sitting room with round wooden table and an expansive, industrial window, emanating the feel of a greenhouse.
Overall, the concept is inspiring. Some downsides, though, is that the coffee and tea selection is pretty basic, and the food offered are mainly pastries. Therefore, if you’re looking to have a good meal, this might not be the spot for you. However, if you are looking for an inspiring location to bring your work and be immersed with nature and sunlight, you’ve found the right spot.
…And if you’re still hungry when you leave, this waffle truck might be hanging out in the parking lot to appease your appetite.
